What's the difference between a Manager and Coach?
A Manager (aka Head Coach) is an adult appointed and approved by the Board President who is responsible for the team's actions on the field, and represents the team in communications with team parents, the MLL Board, umpires, and opposing teams. Managers must be at least 18 years old.
A Coach (aka Assistant Coach) is an adult selected by the Manager to assist with designated duties and responsibilities. There must be at least one adult Coach (18 years old or older) in addition to the Manager appointed to the team. Additional coaches must be at least 16 years old.
Managers may have as many Coaches as they wish to assist at practices. At games, however:
- Juniors and Majors teams may have two (2) Coaches in addition to the Manager
- Teams in all other divisions may have three (3) Coaches in addition to the Manager
